Description:
The Manager of Buildings and Grounds will oversee maintenance and repair of facilities and grounds; key responsibilities may include conducting site surveys, preparing job estimates, and supervising and training employees. Schedule : Monday-Friday & On-Call Rotation Supervisory Responsibilities: Hires, supervises, and trains employees who maintain buildings and grounds. Oversees the day-to-day workflow, scheduling, and assignments of the department. Conducts performance evaluations that are timely and constructive. Handles discipline and termination of employees as needed and in accordance with company policy. Duties/Responsibilities: Drafts and implements routine maintenance schedules and standards; ensures compliance with these standards Collaborates regularly with the Chief Operating Officer to identify renovation or construction needs Oversees the day-to-day operations of the maintenance department Evaluates systems or facilities to determine maintenance or repairs that need to be performed Assesses building systems to plan work assignments and project schedules Develops maintenance procedures and schedules Prepares job estimates and bids for projects to be completed by outside contractors Inspects and approves work performed by outside contractors Ensures maintenance and repair work is completed correctly and in a timely manner Prepares the departmental budget; reviews monthly financial reports for compliance with budget Prepare departmental budget estimates and costs of specific internal repair projects Performs other related duties as assigned Required Skills/Abilities: Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills Ability to identify issues and determine repairs that are needed Ability to plan maintenance schedules for building systems Excellent management and supervisory skills Excellent verbal communication skills Ability to prioritize tasks and delegate when appropriate Ability to read blueprints and working diagrams Education and Experience: Associate degree or higher in related field required 2 years of building maintenance supervisory experience 5 years of related experience in building maintenance or construction required Proficient with work order software, Microsoft Office Suite, or related software needed to maintain reports, records, and budgets Extensive knowledge of building systems such as plumbing, electrical, and HVAC Physical Requirements: Must be able to traverse property and facility to diagnose building issues and plan repairs or maintenance Must be physically able to perform repairs when needed Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer Must be able to lift 50 pounds at a time Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer No phone calls please.
