Title : NextGen Lead Job Type : Full Time, 40(+/-) hours weekly Primary Role : Lead regular ministry opportunities for Middle School, High School, and Young Adult groups within our church. Secondary Responsibility : Assist in leadership of discipleship opportunities for the wider church community. Reports To : Lead Pastor, Elder Team MINISTRY DESCRIPTION This leader is primarily focused on the spiritual development of the next generation of our church. He/she will create programs that promote Bringing, Building, and Sending within the context of Student and Young Adult Ministry. He/she will assist in leadership of church-wide initiatives including the Community Group ministry as well as other group based opportunities such as Membership and Baptism classes. ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES & DUTIES Spiritual Health & Personal Integrity Pursue a growing and personal relationship with Jesus Christ above other relationships and responsibilities Time Management - Find balance of time for family, personal life, and ministry Relational Boundaries - Use wisdom and discretion in all relationships, with special attention to relationships with the opposite gender Social Media - Social media presence is an extension and expression of life. Post, share, and comment in ways that honor Christ, affirm the values of FFC, and edify the community of believers we serve Student Ministry Responsible for partnering with families and volunteer leaders to bring middle and high school students into a knowledge of and relationship with Jesus, to build them up in their faith in Jesus, and send them into ministry and mission in the way of Jesus. Create a comprehensive ministry plan that engages middle & high school students in the Bring, Build, Send process in age appropriate ways. Recruit, equip, & lead the Student Ministry Lead Team consisting of committed, caring adults who love Jesus, the youth of FFC, and our local community. Serve as the primary leader/teacher for weekly Student Ministry gatherings, as well as being actively involved & responsible for all elements of student ministry. Work alongside FFC staff to create environments in which families can grow in their faith and in relationship with one another. Plan and lead special events such as Winter/Summer Camp, Mission Trips, Etc Young Adult Ministry Responsible for creating environments and opportunities for young adults (post high school to mid 20s) to engage in the Bring, Build, Send values of our church. Create regularly scheduled gatherings for our young adults to engage in fellowship and discipleship Recruit, equip, and lead a team of adult volunteers that will invest in this vital demographic in our church Discipleship & Community Groups Assist leading discipleship opportunities primarily in class or small group settings. Community Groups - Provide organization for a variety of in-home small groups for our church to grow in faith as well as in relationship with one another Growth Track Next Step classes such as Faith 101, Baptism 101, and Membership 101 for those new to the faith and/or our church. Preaching at weekend worship experience, at least 3-4 times annually. Necessary Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Knowledge of theology & doctrine as pertaining to their use in the spiritual formation of pre-teens, teens, and young adults. Must possess a strong ability to lead a team and equip others for works for service and leadership. Ability to recruit, train, lead, and retain volunteers. Communicate clearly, thoroughly, and in a timely manner with lead pastor, staff, students, parents, and church at large. Resourcefulness in finding creative solutions to obstacles in ministry. Available to work a flexible schedule including nights & weekends when required. Strong attention to detail and organization. Education and Experience Committed, growing, mature believer (See Spiritual Health & Personal Integrity) BA/MA degree in an area of study related to Student or Next Gen. Ministry, Church Discipleship, OR two years minimum of hands-on experience leading a team in relevant field.
