Full job description Porter Qualifications Driver's License Clean DMV Other: Ability to read and comprehend instructions and information. Professional personal appearance. Basic Technology Skills (Email, Microsoft Office, Mobile Device etc.) Physical Requirements (Surroundings) Spend time outdoors in the weather and elements. Spend time indoors in air-conditioned areas. Standing on a regular basis. Walking on a regular basis. Bending, twisting and/or stooping infrequently. Kneeling and/or squatting infrequently. Lifting 25 lbs. to 50 lbs. Infrequently reaching and/or lifting overhead. Infrequently climbing stairs. Repetitive hand/finger movement on a regular basis. Grasping/grabbing with hands infrequently. Pushing and pulling. General Expectations Devote himself/herself to ensuring satisfaction to customers. Determine management, production and quality requirements by asking questions and listening. Attend company meetings as required. Maintain a follow-up system that encourages follow through with assigned projects. Establish personal performance goals that are consistent with company standards of productivity and devise a strategy to meet those goals. Review and analyze actions at the end of each day, week, month, and year to determine how to better utilize time and plans more effectively. Understand the terminology of the business and keep abreast of technology changes in products and services. Know and understand the federal, state and local requirements which govern the company’s business. Follow lawful directions from supervisors. Understand and follow work rules and procedures. Participate in performance management. Interact well with others and be a positive influence on employee morale. Uphold the company’s non-disclosure and confidentiality policies and agreements. Work evening, weekend and holiday work hours as required. Job-Specific Expectations Inspects vehicles for noticeable defects, such as dents, scratches, torn upholstery, and poor mechanical operation. Uses proper eye, hand, and body protection when using products that require protection. Fills vehicle with fuel. Applies dressing on tires and tire wells. Keeps work area neat and clean. Reports any safety issues immediately to management. Empties garbage into designated areas. Opens lot for business and closes lot when closing. Keeps service drive clear and clean at all times. Cleans customer lounge area and coffee area at all times. Maintains appearance of entire lot. Operates all tools and equipment in a safe manner. Parks vehicles in accordance with policy and under direction of Sales/Marketing to ensure that the lot is attractive to potential buyers. Assist Sales and Service Staff in moving vehicles to ensure efficient dealership operations. Responsible for adding and maintaining key tags and window stickers on all lot vehicles. Drives vehicles to other dealerships for 'dealer swaps' or to other vendors as requested. May pick-up or deliver customers as requested using dealership vehicles. Completes additional tasks as directed. Requirements: 1. High school diploma or equivalent; post-secondary education in automotive technology or related field is a plus. 2. Proven experience as a Service Writer/Advisor at an auto dealership, automotive repair facility, or similar environment. 3. Strong knowledge of automotive systems, parts, and repairs, including familiarity with diagnostic tools and software. 4. Exceptional customer service skills with the ability to address customer concerns and build lasting relationships. 5. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, including the ability to explain technical information in a clearandunderstandable manner. 6. Detail-oriented and highly organized, with the ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment. 7. Proficient computer skills and experience with automotive management software or similar systems. 8. Valid driver's license with a clean driving record. 9. Positive attitude, team player mentality, and a strong work ethic. 10. Time management skills and the ability to work efficiently under pressure. 11. Willingness to continuously learn and adapt to changing automotive technologies.
