Who You'll Work With: We are seeking a Nashville based Senior Business Analyst ("BA") to join our Platform Architecture & Alternatives team in Global Technology & Operations. Team Description At the intersection of business and technology, the Platform Architecture ("PlatArch") team is responsible for delivering state of the art technology solutions and instilling best practices around several themes: Operational Growth - Increase scale and capabilities through automation and design of efficient processes & innovative tools Service Quality - Deliver an intuitive, consistent, timely, and modern experience for our clients and staff throughout the product and investment lifecycle Data & Document Mastering - Improve data quality, transparency, dissemination, and governance for critical data sets (alternatives, product, entity, tax, transactions) and documents Financial Productivity - Mitigate operational cost and risk by streamlining redundant processes, data, and systemsAligned with AB's Private Alternatives, Sales and Distribution channels, PlatArch reports into Global Technology & Operations and supports approximately $100 in AUM, $50 billion of which are invested in alternative products and complex fund structures including private equity, private credit, hedge funds, fund of funds, co-invests, business trusts, business development corporations, and other commingled vehicles domiciled in Cayman, Delaware, Ireland, Luxembourg, and beyond. Investment strategies include Private Credit/Middle Market Loans, Real Estate, Emerging Equity, Multi-Manager, etc.Critical functions include Project Management, Business & Data Analysis, 3rd Party Vendor Integration & Management, Strategic Infrastructure Planning and Operations. Plat Arch collaborates with product development, legal, fund accounting, sales, technology, operations, and external service providers to onboard investment teams & strategies and to elevate their ongoing operations. PlatArch also leads firm-wide initiatives to centralize data masters for product, investing entity, and evaluates and onboards 3P FinTech. As a member of PlatArch, you will work with a group of talented individuals in a highly team-oriented environment on next generation technology for multiple investment and distribution units. What You'll Do: The Business Analyst is a key role for our firm providing technical and business leadership to propel our alternatives capabilities forward with internal users and systems and external partners and marketplaces. They will work closely with the Head of Platform Architecture and colleagues to define and implement vision, strategy, and architecture. With a mantra of iterative progress, the BA will conduct analysis and drive projects to mitigate risk, decrease errors/exceptions, increase operational efficiency, and improve client experience. Applications and business or enterprise functions the role supports The role supports AB Alternatives and Core Investments across multiple distribution channels and business units and involves building new and/or enhancing existing applications and processes. Systems include ACE, AllianceBernstein.com, Bernstein.com, MRS, Salesforce, Office X, PCTR, Boss, AB Advantage, Seismic, etc. Key Job Responsibilities Lead meetings, demos, retrospectives, and initiatives. Own project plans, roadmaps, complex analysis/requirement documentation, communications, testing, and implementation.Build consensus, and influence decisions to drive positive outcomes.Collaborate with working groups to define and balance desired enhancements through the lens of constituents (sales/distribution, business development, operations, technology, and legal, and investor).Develop detailed requirements documentation including use cases, business process and data flows.Accountable for deliverables by understanding and balancing the competing demands for project scope, time and quality. Research issues and determine the feasibility, tradeoffs and timeframes.Ensure teams adhere to plan, identify and escalate issues, and resolve discrepanciesAnalyze, reconcile, and synchronize data; define structure, establish stewardship and governance, ensure quality.Develop roll-out, and training plans to create user adoption of new or existing tools to ensure that the business value from those projects is fully realized.Become a subject matter expert in the core business functions and technology solutions across Private Alternatives. Understand the relationships, dependencies and impact of related business functions.Act as a system "super user" helping the business to leverage systems more effectively and establishing best practice system processes.Build strong and productive relationships with key business stakeholders, technology colleagues and technology vendors to analyze and understand complex business processes and present them in an understandable and logical format.Drive 3rd party vendor engagement to support existing and new platforms, which may include Alkymi, iCapital, CAIS, PubliFund, Subscribe, Seismic, Snowflake.Transformative projects may include:Institutional Private Alts - support multi-currency cashflows and reporting, SMA and shadow accounts, integrate acquisitions and partners, and create management dashboards.Assignment of Interest (AOI) process and reporting standardizationEvaluate AI and FinTech optionsAlts Marketplace and Distribution StrategyAlts Onboarding - reimagine the Pre-Qualification process What makes this role unique or interesting Private Alternatives and Client Distributions (Private Wealth, Institutional, and Retail) are growing businesses of the firm. Professional development value of this role The BA will consider issues and opportunities from a broad corporate perspective to design solutions that can be leveraged widely by our high net worth, institutional, retail, and RIA clients, Alternatives and Core Products, Individually and Commingled Funds, and transaction and reporting systems.The analyst will engage a variety of business sponsors, stakeholders, and teams globally (e.g., Austin, Nashville, New York, Europe, Asia) across the firm, including portfolio management teams and leaders within the Alternatives business and the Private Wealth Management and Institutional sales channels, to understand business needs/challenges and desired outcomes. They will strategize on the approach, lead cross-functional teams of subject matter experts (SMEs), developers, quality assurance analysts, and external vendors to identify opportunities how technology can improve, document requirements, architect solutions, and implement efficient processes and tools. Prior experience with an alternative asset manager (hedge fund, private equity firm, fund-of-fund), financial services firm, or related service provider (transfer agency, investor/shareholder services, administrator, auditor, fintech, etc.) is preferred. Broader asset management experience is required.
