As part of our flagship Ambition Zero Carbon program, we have committed to a fully electric vehicle (EV) fleet by the end of 2025, which means that all our drivers will be assigned an EV.The AstraZeneca's US BioPharma Respiratory and Immunology (R&I) Team holds a unique position in respiratory disease, including asthma, chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD) and Lupus, with a range of differentiated potential medicines in development by using novel combinations, biologics and devices. The pipeline also has several promising assets in inflammatory and autoimmune diseases within areas such as psoriasis, psoriatic arthritis, gout, systemic lupus and rheumatoid arthritis. The Commercial Business Director (CBD) for Primary Care Team in the South West Region, will play a pivotal role in channeling our scientific capabilities to make a positive impact on changing patients' lives. Main Duties and Responsibilities Ensure sales forecasts and operational budgets are met or exceeded within the therapeutic area at a regional level by inspiring ownership, accountability, initiative, and engagement within the entire team by regularly communicating AstraZeneca's vision, business objectives and performance outcomes Focus the team on delivering high-impact opportunities by identifying issues and implementing customer-specific approaches based upon their needs and preferences. The CBD will accomplish this by using robust analytical rigor to frame situations and incorporate new perspectives and ideas Identify innovation opportunities to enhance business impact, adapt as needed, and implement; use of multiple tools / channels to engage a customer / account to drive performance. Anticipate and remove obstacles so that the teams can deliver results and succeed Establish business objectives, assesses performance, and addresses skill development for direct reports to ensure appropriate portfolio management, including opportunities for career development by investing in long-term development of others through mentoring, coaching and continuous feedback Build diverse teams with enterprise, innovative and entrepreneurial thinking Scientific approach and role model AZ Values and Behaviors. Lead and influence district sales managers through modeling and coaching to AZ's Leadership capabilities by creating a climate of trust so team members can act decisively by clarifying roles/responsibilities and establishing boundaries of decision-making Help the team align their business actions to the regional plans, so they can understand and evaluate the potential impact of external events on the organizational and regional strategies by accurately acknowledging both the broad environmental context of situations and the needs and motivations of others, so they know who they need to influence and why Consistently demonstrates courageous Leadership; leads though inclusion, high collaboration, support and transparency with team members and partners Essential Requirements Bachelor's Degree required; preferably in business, marketing or the sciences More than 10 years of Pharmaceutical or Healthcare industry experience Leadership experience in field sales Demonstrated experience in working within cross-functional business units is essential Strong financial skill with the ability to assess and get results Strong presentation and negotiation skills Ability to successfully lead through ambiguity Successful experience leading change transformation Scientific mind set and robust knowledge of all AZ Core Growth Platforms and of our strategic TAs Demonstrated Learning agility Amenable to national travel and willingness to travel to Headquarters to attend periodic meetings Preferred Requirements More than 5 years of experience leading sales teams across the entire US, or experience leading teams in various regions across the US Experience in multiple commercial functional areas of the business Exhibited ability to balance multiple, concurrent work-streams in diverse functional/therapeutic areas Please note - Relocation assistance is not available for this position. The annual base salary (or hourly rate of compensation) for this position ranges from $198,196.00 to $297,294.00. However, base pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including market location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. In addition, our positions offer a short-term incentive bonus opportunity; eligibility to participate in our equity-based long-term incentive program. Benefits offered included a qualified retirement program [401(k) plan]; paid vacation and holidays; paid leaves; and, health benefits including medical, prescription drug, dental, and vision coverage in accordance with the terms and conditions of the applicable plans.
