Worship Pastor of Victory Church, Winchester, VA Summary of the Position: The primary purpose of a worship pastor is to carry forward the vision, mission and strategy of Victory Church to “Help People Find and Follow Jesus.” The worship pastor will provide leadership and care to all worship volunteers and ensure the effective operation of the Sunday worship experience. Qualifications: Known for their godly character and above reproach integrity, with a verifiable track record of tithing. Bachelor’s degree in Theological Education or Music. Must love the creative process, value collaboration, and respond well to feedback. A dependable team player with a high work ethic and a willingness to be accountable. A solid grasp of band dynamics, worship environment production, and ministry teamwork in the worship setting. A multi-instrumentalist with expertise and experience; ability to lead from a main instrument (Piano or Guitar); vocally proficient. An exceptionally strong ability to effectively lead, coach, equip, and pastor the worship team. Knowledge and understanding of Ableton, Multi-tracks, PCO, Pro-Presenter, other software tools, and sound system configuration/operation. Outstanding attitude and commitment to excellence. Functions and Responsibilities: The Worship Pastor provides vision, leadership, and direction for all music, production, and service programming to create moments for people to meet with God, with a priority of developing leaders and shepherding his/her team. Manage scheduling, rosters, recruiting, auditions, onboarding, and training. Oversee the inventory, operation, maintenance, and purchasing of all worship ministries equipment in collaboration with the tech director. Establish processes and systems that help team members create a consistently high-quality experience and ensure they are being executed with excellence. Build strong teams that create excellent experiences at worship services, online experiences, and other church events in the areas of audio, video, lighting, media, and video broadcasting. Oversee and execute all CCLI reporting needs across all worship environments. Facilitate a weekly worship practice for the Sunday morning worship experience with a focus on building and developing worship teams. Facilitate a weekly worship practice for student ministry with a focus on building and developing student worship teams. Plan special services in coordination with the Lead Pastor for Christmas Eve, Good Friday, Easter, Vision Night, Worship Nights, Monthly Pray First Services, Kingdom Builders Conference, and other special services as needed, including funerals. Oversee annual budget, annual goals, and quarterly goals for worship ministries. Lead After Action Review (evaluation) of all Sunday and special services. Participate in weekly Staff meetings. Serve as the thought-leader of the organization within their scope of responsibility, providing recommendations for policies, procedures, and innovative changes to their team’s various structures that will enhance staff and worship culture. Enforce the policies and procedures of the organization within their scope of responsibility. Other Duties and Responsibilities: Manage projects, organize tasks, and prioritize workload Communicate project progress with ministry departments During non-business hours he or she should be available for rare emergency work Participate in church wide events Other duties as assigned
