The ideal candidate will have a solid background in drafting ordinances and resolutions, navigating open meeting laws, and handling land use and planning issues, among other responsibilities.Duties:Drafting ordinances and resolutions for public agency clientsAdvising on open meeting laws complianceHandling land use and planning mattersProviding legal counsel on conflicts of interest issuesAddressing free speech regulations related to municipal mattersAdvising on public safety issuesHandling election law mattersProviding legal support on other issues relevant to public agency clientsRequirements:3-5 years of experience practicing municipal transactional lawExperience drafting ordinances and resolutionsFamiliarity with open meeting lawsProficiency in handling land use and planning issuesKnowledge of conflicts of interest regulationsUnderstanding of free speech regulations pertaining to municipal mattersAbility to address public safety concernsExperience with election law mattersMust be licensed to practice law in CaliforniaEducation and Certifications:Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited law schoolActive license to practice law in CaliforniaSkills:Excellent legal research and writing skillsStrong analytical and problem-solving abilitiesEffective communication skills, both verbal and writtenAbility to work independently and collaboratively in a team environmentAttention to detail and accuracyProficiency in legal software and research tools This is a full-service law firm with more than 150 attorneys in offices strategically located to serve California's fastest growing communities.
