Primary Responsibilities: Develop and manage a comprehensive Integrated Pest Management (IPM) program for the Metropolitan Museum of Art, with the safety and care of the Museum's collections as a primary motivationEstablish a holistic IPM plan for the museumCoordinate (with the IPM-Working group and Scientific Research) to draft policy documents that outline measures to achieve the following goals and supervise their implementation and response action plans:Met-wide monitoring, identification, reporting, and treatment processesComprehensive documentation of pest activityBest practices for preventionQuarantine and treatment systems for objects entering the museum and off-site storagePest emergency action planDirect a contracted pest management (PM) company at the museum buildings and off-site storagePlay a major role in the coordination and management of the museum's anoxic treatment and freezer facilityLead general training on IPM best practices for all staff and targeted training for collections care staffPartner with Custodial Services and The Met's PM contractors to incorporate and implement IPM best practicesOversees and consults on IPM efforts related to The Met's food service operationAdvise and consults on IPM requirements for all exhibition and infrastructure modificationsMaintain an IPM intranet siteParticipate in relevant conferences and collaborates with stakeholder departments, such as the Department of Scientific Research on research projects and the invitation of speakers on overlapping topics of interestOther related duties and special projects REQUIREMENTS AND QUALIFICATIONS: Bachelor's Degree or equivalent work and experience required3 years of experience in IPM or collections care with a focus on administering an IPM programExtensive knowledge of collections care and collections management best practices in cultural organizationsExperience with museum cataloguing systems (TMS preferred)Ability to work collaboratively with staff across the museum at all levelsKnowledge of pest monitoring softwarePest Management certification preferredStrong interpersonal, communication and project coordination skills COMPENSATION RANGE: Pay Range: $120,000.00 - $130,000.00 / AnnuallyThe advertised pay scale reflects the good faith minimum and maximum salary range for this role.
