The candidate should be interested in supporting, maintaining, and expanding a diverse commercial litigation practice. Must have first-chair trial experience litigating and arbitrating cases involving breach of contract, UCC issues, business torts, and other business-related actions. Additional experience in matters involving construction, real estate, and land use will be preferred. Must be Licensed to practice law in Ohio. Additional licensure in Michigan will be preferred. This firm is one of the oldest firms in Ohio. With little more than 20 attorneys, the firm maintains a friendly, collegial atmosphere that is a welcome change from the competitive big firm environment. This general practice firm represents a divergent group of clients including publicly-held corporations; privately-held commercial, industrial, manufacturing and service businesses of all sizes; public employers; professional practices; hospitals and related health care institutions; financial institutions; construction companies; and insurance carriers. Associates must be prepared for challenging work and early client contact.Additional Skills: The candidate should have demonstrated the ability to handle commercial litigation and arbitration independently and with minimal supervision. A strong sense of service to clients and colleagues is required. Must have strong legal research and writing skills. The ability to handle multiple projects and priorities is needed. Must have self-awareness about strengths and weaknesses and a willingness to grow and learn. A strong sense of professionalism and work ethic is necessary. A high level of organization and attention to detail is required. Must have the ability to communicate effectively and professionally with clients and colleagues. Should have the ability to work well in a team environment.
