Location: 9400 Ward Parkway, Kansas City, MO 64114Position Title: Staff Electrical Engineers Job Description: Perform electrical design of projects from the conceptual phase through design completion. Modify and review production drawings for a variety of projects. Design electrical components for project needs and requirements that are set forth by the project managers. Apply strong knowledge of commonly used electrical engineering/design concepts, principles, practices, codes, and procedures within the electrical engineering services industry. Research and compile project related data as required by the project managers. Update drawings provided by senior engineers to verify corrections are made within multiple CAD related software. Compile information for client presentations, shop drawing review, and contract administration for the design of power, process, pipeline, industrial, healthcare, airports, educational institutions, commercial, and governmental and military facilities. Performs field inspections, measurements or calculations for public and private clients. Domestic travel required up to 25% for internal meetings and client visits. Telecommuting is permitted 30 days per year. Multiple Positions Available. Job Requirements: Requires a Bachelors degree, in Electrical Engineering, Electrical Engineering Technology*, or a directly related field from an ABET accredited program plus three (3) years of electrical engineering experience. *A Bachelors Degree in any Engineering Technology field must be accompanied with completion of the Fundamentals of Engineering (FE) exam. Must have at least three (3) years of experience with the following: Microsoft Office Suite. AutoCAD, MicroStation, 2D and 3D rendering programs. Designing or reviewing Protection and Control system design, one-lines, three-lines, AC/DC schematics, control panel layouts, bill of materials, and protection specifications. Performing calculations, including short circuit calculation, current transformer performance and ratio selection, over-current element coordination, and zone-distance element selection and coordination. ASPEN, CAPE, ETAP, or SKM. Providing engineering support with construction and commissioning activities. Alternatively, the employer will accept a Masters degree in Electrical Engineering, or a directly related field from an ABET accredited program plus two (2) years of electrical engineering experience in lieu of Bachelors plus three (3) years of electrical engineering experience. Must have at least two (2) years of experience with the following: Microsoft Office Suite. AutoCAD, MicroStation, 2D and 3D rendering programs. Designing or reviewing Protection and Control system design, one-lines, three-lines, AC/DC schematics, control panel layouts, bill of materials, and protection specifications.
