Welder Operator Department: Leduc Manufacturing Reports to: Operations Manager Position Summary: Responsible for the welding and fabrication of Variperm parts and products to specifications identified in job order documentation. Schedule: Work Schedule: This position may involve various shifts and overtime hours depending on the scope of work and plant activity. Duties: Perform production welding in accordance to Variperm Weld Procedure Specifications (WPS), including post weld heat treatment Read blueprints and drawings and take or read measurements to plan layout Determine the appropriate welding equipment or method based on requirements Set up components for welding according to specifications Operate angle grinders to prepare the parts that must be welded Align components using calipers, rulers etc. and clamp pieces Directing and providing instruction to welder helpers Ensuring proper use and care of equipment at all times Assist in other plant operations as required Follow and understand both oral and written instructions in English Adhere to health, safety, and quality policies, as well as all other company policies and procedures Participate in training and safety meetings as required Perform quality control inspections as required Other duties as required Competencies Grade 12 or GED or equivalent education Team.
