We have an exciting opportunity for an experienced Underwriter to join our childcare specialist business, Morton Michel. This role would suit someone with commercial underwriting experience and being comfortable handling referrals from the internal team members. The successful candidate will be dealing with various queries and referring into insurers directly where required. With a clear understanding of the importance of adherence to underwriting guidelines under Delegated Authority schemes and disciplines you will have excellent administration and communication skills with the ability to develop business relationships. You will work in a wider team responsible for the product and propositions and work closely with the customer facing and development teams. As the business continues to grow, you will be have the opportunity to become involved in projects, expanding your skills along the way, and giving you the ability to develop and grow within your role. Responsibilities: You will handle underwriting queries and referrals in line with agreed delegated underwriting authority guidelines, You will deal with colleagues' queries face to face, via teams/ phone and emails within agreed SLA's, You will approach insurers with referrals on scenarios that are outside of our Delegated Authority in terms of pricing, coverage, and policy conditions, You will assist colleagues in their development and become a reliable subject matter expert. You will be organised and ensure that you work within the required service level agreements. You will report into the Product & Proposition Manager You will adhere to all compliance and regulatory procedures, Experience: You will have a minimum of 3 years appropriate previous insurance underwriting experience You will ideally be qualified Cert CII, You will have experience of working within a regulated FCA environment (essential), You will be able to understand and implement 'best practice' in customer service, compliance.
