CARING HOMEMAKER PROGRAM Monday - Friday JOB DESCRIPTION: Homemaker JOB SUMMARY: The homemaker shall be responsible for the cleanliness & neatness of resident apartments-laundry services and ensuring that the residents live in a safe environment. QUALIFICATIONS: • High School Diploma or GED preferred• 1 year of housekeeping experience preferred. GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES: • Maintains a working relationship with the Program Administrator and co-workers.• Maintains a professional relationship with all residents.• Maintains confidentiality of verbal and written information about residents, facility operations, and other personnel. '• Maintains the resident's privacy and dignity.• Encourages residents to maintain their independence.• Has a complete understanding of fire, emergency, and safety procedures.• Adheres to policies and procedures and standards regarding infection control.• Has a complete understanding of the hazards and safety of oxygen used by residents.• Follows and understands services to be provided to each resident according to their individualized service provider.• Maintains the cleanliness and neatness of residents' apartments.• Cleans refrigerator, stove/oven, cabinets, and silverware drawers as needed.• Vacuum/ mop and dust as needed.• Assist with laundry: washing & drying clothes, folding and putting away laundry.• Strip and remake bed as needed.• Cleans the bathroom, including bathroom floor, vanity, toilet, and shower/tub.• Removes trash from residents' apartments daily.• Reports any change noted in resident to Program Administrator.• Report any unsafe equipment or issues to Program Administrator.• Abides by established guidelines of the facility and governing regulations.• Any other responsibilities deemed necessary by Program Administrator.
