The company has aircraft and helicopter final assembly lines across Asia, Europe and the Americas, Position Summary: The Continuous Improvement/ Lean Manufacturing Expert contributes directly to the Airbus Industrial strategy by defining and deploying ways of working within operational teams with direct contact with the A320 Leadership team. The Continuous Improvement Expert must have the knowledge of lean principles and a proven shop-floor experience in manufacturing. Incumbent will address systemic operational performance issues with piloted, standardized & sustainable solutions through the Airbus Operating System (AOS). AOS Expert must be able to coach the Leadership team. Primary Responsibilities: Work with AOS-Continuous Improvement/Lean Manufacturing teams across both programs to define the deployment strategy for Site Services organization. Structure the deployment architecture into a tactical implementation plan for the Final Assembly Line (FAL) perimeter. Act as deputy for Head Of AOS to represent FAL with a central team in Europe to shape AOS definition that could be deployed in the FAL environment. Key advisor for A320/A220 Ramp up, leading the Run-at-Rate activity and support definition of right priorities and projects to focus on Site Services perimeter. Perform monthly self-assessment in Site Services organization and propose improvement actions. Develop and maintain key link with Senior Experts to bring in best practices Lead benchmark exercises within Airbus and outside companies Develop & coach senior management and local team in AOS functions Responsible for developing AOS Change Agents in knowledge and understanding of AOS/Lean Principles. Liaise with other central experts (Quality, Logistics, Manufacturing, Engineering, etc.) and implementation, results demonstration Contribute to key projects with Lean/AOS skills & competencies in the frame on ad hoc Top Management Requests (Head of Function, COO, CEO) to ensure project outcomes are delivering tangible benefits for the company and enabling sustainable and long-term performance. Additional Duties: Lead assessments of industrial maturity at FAL level integrating operations performance & AOS standards adherence Report AOS Maturity Score, on a monthly basis, to the Central Team. Coach Business Unit Leaders and change agents to develop action plan based on industrial assessment At FAL Level Identify and escalate competence gaps to top management. Advise managers on how to improve performance by running specific AOS diagnosis Run Gemba / shop floor exercises with Site Services management Initiate AOS pilots in low maturity areas Exchange on best practices through cross benchmarking and communication within Airbus plants and to external companies. Facilitate / co-lead / support training development with AOS faculty for ad hoc specific training Other duties as assigned. Qualified Experience / Skills / Training: Education: Required: Bachelor's degree in aerospace, manufacturing engineering, industrial engineering, or similar discipline. May substitute for an equivalent combination of education and experience. Preferred: Master's degree Experience: Required: A minimum of 10 years industry experience or minimum of 8 years prior experience in a leadership role in a manufacturing logistics environment or 5 plus years of prior change agent experience Required: Experience leading lean manufacturing workshops such as Kaizen, VSM, SMED, 5S, etc. Required: Experience in operations management Preferred: Experience in project management Licensure/Certifications: Required: Lean/Six Sigma Black Belt or similar certification Knowledge, Skills, Demonstrated Capabilities: Ability and experience to train managers, technicians and operators Deep knowledge and experience of MES, lean manufacturing and lean management /problem solving (AOS advanced & MES accreditation) Good knowledge and experience in industrial engineering, quality tools, problem solving, logistics engineering and process optimization (APICS basic level, Six Sigma Black Belt, Kepner Tregoe or equivalent) Aeronautical manufacturing basics Capability to design strategies for change management, coaching, mentoring and training. Communication Skills (Spoken, Written, Influencing, Proficiency in Other Languages): Coaching skills and communication competences Ability to inspire and give meaning Technical Systems Proficiency: Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Word) and Google Workspace Knowledge of SAP Travel Required: 10% Domestic and International Job Dimensions, Contributions to Success: Supports definition of AOS strategy for the FAL Coach L3/L4 senior leadership on AOS fundamentals, routines, and behaviors. Subject matter expert for AOS team on AOS principles. Working Conditions: Vision: adequate to enter and read material on computer screens. Able to identify individuals to initiate greetings, the giving of directions and other business interactions Hearing: able to hear sufficiently to engage in conversation in office settings Able to hear safety alerts and warning signals. Speaking: able to engage in conversations in person and via electronic means and deliver information to groups of varying size with or without amplification. Equipment Operation Able to operate a wide range of personal and office electronic equipment. Carrying: able to occasionally carry up to 30lbs/14kg which engaging in training, addressing production issues or as part of continuous improvement projects. Lifting: able to occasionally lift up to 30lbs/14kg. Pushing/Pulling: able to push/pull items in office areas. Sitting: able to sit for extended periods of time at computer and in meetings. Squatting/Kneeling: able to occasionally squat or kneel to retrieve or replace items shelved on bottom shelves. Standing: able to stand for extended periods of time. Travel: able to travel overseas and domestically sometimes for extended periods of time. Working outside hangers in changing locations. Walking: able to walk through office and production areas, around flight line and airstrips and sometimes on uneven indoor and/or outdoor surfaces.
