Position Summary: The Environmental, Health and Safety Specialist I will be an integral part of the Mobile Manufacturing Site's EHS team. The role will support the Safety and Health Manager and will be responsible for supporting key aspects of occupational Safety, Health, and environmental performance. Primary Responsibilities: Assists in maintaining, updating, and coordinating site wide EHS training programs Support training efforts related to employee, visitor, and contractor training programs Support environmental, health, and safety compliance activities including, but not limited to, employee training, performing site inspections, record retention, internal/external audits. Support all aspects of maintaining ISO:45001 and ISO:14001:2015 certification for the site. Assists in the review and modification of technical documents including policies, procedures, programs, and guidance documents Participates in EHS site audits, inspections, and routine surveys including the developing and drafting of audit documentation, tracking corrective actions, and monitoring trends. Lead hazard assessments by participating in work processes, evaluating procedures, and work steps. Implement corrective/preventative actions and continuous improvement activities as directed. Organize and coordinate recurring activities such as respiratory fit testing and annual audiometric testing Participates in the review of new processes, aircraft jigs, and other equipment to assure compliance with regulatory requirements. Participate as a member of the core investigation team as required Organize and lead industrial hygiene activities as required. Provide program support to all departments regarding regulatory compliance requirements and standard operating procedures. Lead and support hazard assessment activities such as job safety analysis (JSAs) for internal and external stakeholders onsite. Support ergonomic assessments and drive change through action plans. Performs other duties as assigned. Additional Responsibilities: Other duties as assigned. Qualified Experience / Skills / Training: Education: Bachelor Degree in industrial and/or Environmental, Health and Safety Engineering or related fields, or certification or an equivalent amount of experience is required. Certifications: OSHA 511, OSHA 30, RCRA, ISO14001, ISO 45001, GSP, ASP or any other related certifications in EHS preferred Experience: 0-3 years EHS experience in an industrial production environment Knowledge, Skills, Demonstrated Capabilities: Passionate about people and environment, ability to influence. Knowledge of environmental, health, and safety data software or database Position requires knowledge of federal, state and local environmental, health, and safety laws. Ability to understand and apply government regulations related to hazardous materials and wastes. Ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in written form. Ability to maintain and ensure the confidential nature of the position. Excellent Excel, Word and PowerPoint, Google Workspace skills Communication Skills (Spoken, Written, Influencing, Proficiency in Other Languages): Required: Fluency in written and spoken English. Must display excellent communication and presentation skills. Preferred: Fluency in another language (French, German, and Spanish) is highly desirable. Travel Required: Some domestic or international travel maybe required annually Eligibility: Authorized to Work in the US Clearance: None required Decision Making, Complexity: Determine the new standard for all H&S measures as it relates to compliance regulations and internal Airbus values. Directly lead the continuous improvement activities to drive H&S efficiencies throughout the site. Organizational information: Direct Reports: Exempt: 0 Non-exempt : 0 Job Dimensions, Contributions to Success: Conduct compliance and continuous improvement assessments on EHS maturity to Airbus standards and general compliance to regulatory measures. Evaluate the assessment against national standards and benchmark these against internal (within Airbus) and external markets (US competitors). Execute action plans for the site to reach and continue to sustain EHS performance. Responsible for maintaining alignment with the department and key internal stakeholders. Nature of Contacts: Involved communication on a regular basis with internal and external stakeholders. Physical Requirements: Vision: adequate to enter and read material on computer screens. Able to identify individuals to initiate greetings, the giving of directions and other business interactions and observe activities on the production floor. Hearing: able to hear sufficiently to engage in conversation in office settings. Able to hear safety alerts and warning signals. Speaking: able to engage in conversations in person and via electronic means and deliver information to groups of varying size with or without amplification in office settings and on the production floor. Equipment Operation: Able to operate a wide range of personal and office electronic equipment. Familiarity with most production equipment and able to operate many tools. Carrying: able to occasionally carry up to 30lbs/13kg while engaging in training, addressing production issues or as part of continuous improvement projects. Lifting: able to occasionally lift up to 30lbs/9kg. Pushing/Pulling: able to push/pull items in office areas. Sitting: able to sit for extended periods of time at computer and in meetings. Squatting/Kneeling: able to occasionally squat or kneel to retrieve or replace items shelved on bottom shelves. Standing: able to stand for extended periods of time delivering information and observing production activities. Travel: able to travel overseas and domestically sometimes for extended periods of time and on short notice. Walking: able to walk through office and production areas, around flightline and airstrips and sometimes on uneven indoor and/or outdoor surfaces. Heights: able to function at heights up to 40 feet. Able to operate moving platforms, hydraulic lifts and forklifts.
